Website Disclaimers & Terms of Use
PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE.
This website is owned and operated by Alliance Mental Health Counseling, PLLC (the “Practice”), a New York professional service limited liability company providing mental health counseling services through appropriately licensed or otherwise authorized professionals.
By accessing, viewing, or using this website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Website Disclaimer.
Section 1. Website Disclaimers
General Informational and Educational Purposes Only
All information, materials, articles, blog posts, videos, graphics, downloads, frequently asked questions, descriptions of services, social media content, links, resources, and other content appearing on or made available through this website are provided solely for general informational and educational purposes.
Nothing contained on this website is intended to constitute, and nothing on this website should be interpreted or relied upon as, mental health counseling, psychotherapy, psychological advice, psychiatric advice, medical advice, clinical advice, diagnosis, assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, medication advice, or any other individualized professional healthcare service.
The information available through this website is general in nature and is not a substitute for an individualized evaluation, diagnosis, assessment, treatment plan, or other services provided by an appropriately licensed healthcare professional who is familiar with your particular circumstances.
You should not act, refrain from acting, begin treatment, discontinue treatment, change treatment, alter medication, discontinue medication, or make healthcare or mental-health decisions based upon information contained on this website.
No Counselor Patient or Therapist Client Relationship
Your access to or use of this website does not create a counselor-patient, therapist-client, psychotherapist-patient, healthcare-provider-patient, fiduciary, advisory, or other professional relationship between you and the Practice or between you and any individual professional affiliated with the Practice.
Submitting an inquiry through a SimplePractice link, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, requesting an appointment, downloading materials, or communicating through social media does not, by itself, establish a professional treatment relationship.
A professional relationship is established only after the Practice has expressly agreed to provide professional services to you and all applicable intake, informed consent, eligibility, scheduling, and other requirements of the Practice have been satisfied.
The Practice reserves the right to determine whether it is able and appropriate to accept any prospective patient. Submission of an inquiry or appointment request does not constitute acceptance as a patient and does not guarantee that services will be offered.
Website Inquiries and Electronic Communications
DO NOT SEND DETAILED CONFIDENTIAL, CLINICAL, MEDICAL, PSYCHIATRIC, OR OTHER SENSITIVE INFORMATION THROUGH GENERAL EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA, OR ANY NON-SECURE WEBSITE CHANNEL.
General website and email communications are intended for administrative inquiries, such as asking about services or availability. The separate SimplePractice inquiry page may request information needed to respond to your inquiry and is subject to the Practice’s applicable privacy obligations.
An inquiry does not, by itself, establish a treatment relationship. Whether information shared with the Practice is protected by HIPAA, professional confidentiality, privilege, or another law depends on the facts and applicable law. Nothing in this disclaimer waives any protection that applies.
Ordinary email, text messages, social media, and general website channels may have privacy or security limitations. For established clients, use the communication methods designated by the Practice, including the SimplePractice Client Portal where appropriate.
For an initial administrative inquiry, provide only the minimum information reasonably necessary for the Practice to respond. Use the designated SimplePractice inquiry link when it is available.
Please avoid sending detailed information through ordinary email, social media, or any general website channel about:
• diagnoses or suspected diagnoses
• mental-health symptoms
• psychiatric history
• medications
• medical history
• trauma history
• substance use
• suicidal thoughts or self-harm
• family or relationship history
• treatment records
• Social Security numbers
• insurance identification numbers
• financial information
• any other sensitive personal, clinical, medical, psychiatric, or protected health information
If more information is needed, the Practice will provide instructions for a more appropriate communication method.
Notice to Existing Clients
Existing clients should not use general website email addresses, social media accounts, or public site features to communicate confidential clinical information, request clinical advice, report symptoms, discuss treatment, communicate medication concerns, report an emergency, or otherwise communicate time-sensitive treatment information.
Existing clients should follow the communication procedures provided as part of their treatment relationship, including the SimplePractice Client Portal when instructed to use it.
Nothing in this Website Disclaimer is intended to waive, limit, eliminate, or modify any confidentiality, privacy, privilege, recordkeeping, or professional obligations that may otherwise apply to communications made within an established professional treatment relationship under applicable law.
The availability of a public website or a general email address does not make it the appropriate channel for confidential clinical communications.
Website Is Not Monitored for Clinical or Urgent Communications
This public website and general administrative email or voicemail are not intended for urgent, emergency, crisis, or time-sensitive communications and are not monitored continuously.
The Practice cannot guarantee that an inquiry will be reviewed or answered within a particular timeframe.
You should never rely upon the website, a website contact form, email, voicemail, direct message, social media communication, or other electronic communication with the Practice if you believe that you or another person requires immediate assistance.
This Website Is Not an Emergency or Crisis Service
If you believe that you or another person may be experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, may be in immediate danger, may be at risk of harming yourself or another person, or otherwise requires immediate assistance, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service immediately.
In the United States, you may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Do not wait for a response from the Practice through this website before seeking emergency assistance.
The Practice's website, contact forms, email addresses, social media accounts, and other electronic communications should never be used as a substitute for emergency medical, psychiatric, or crisis services.
No Medical or Medication Advice
The Practice provides professional services only within the lawful scope of practice of its appropriately licensed professionals.
Unless a particular professional affiliated with the Practice is separately licensed and legally authorized to do so, the Practice's licensed mental health counselors do not prescribe medications, administer medications, or provide medical treatment.
Nothing contained on this website constitutes medical advice, psychiatric medication management, pharmaceutical advice, or a recommendation to begin, stop, increase, decrease, substitute, or otherwise modify any medication.
Questions concerning medications, medication interactions, medication side effects, physical symptoms, medical diagnoses, medical treatment, laboratory testing, or other medical concerns should be directed to an appropriately licensed physician, psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional legally authorized to address those issues.
Never discontinue or alter a prescribed medication based upon information appearing on this website.
If you are experiencing symptoms that may have a physical or medical cause, you should seek evaluation from an appropriately licensed medical professional.
No Individualized Clinical Assessment or Diagnosis Through Website Content
Mental-health conditions and symptoms may present differently from person to person and may be affected by medical, psychiatric, psychological, environmental, developmental, social, family, substance-related, and other factors.
Descriptions of symptoms, diagnoses, treatment approaches, therapeutic modalities, mental-health conditions, coping strategies, or other topics appearing on this website are general educational descriptions only.
They should not be used for self-diagnosis or diagnosis of another person.
Reading information on this website does not constitute an assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment recommendation, treatment plan, or professional opinion concerning any particular individual.
Professional Licensure and Jurisdictional Limitations
Professional mental-health services are subject to licensure and other legal requirements that vary by jurisdiction.
Information appearing on this website concerning the Practice's services should not be interpreted as an offer to provide professional services in every state, territory, country, or other jurisdiction.
The Practice and its professionals provide professional services only where they are appropriately licensed, registered, permitted, exempt, or otherwise legally authorized to do so.
A professional's licensure in New York does not automatically authorize that professional to provide services to an individual located in another jurisdiction.
If telehealth services are offered, availability is subject to professional licensing laws, the client’s location at the time of service, the Practice’s policies, and clinical judgment.
Nothing on this website guarantees that the Practice will be legally or clinically able to provide services to a particular person based upon that person's location.
Website Does Not Replace Individualized Professional Care
Mental-health information available online cannot take into account your complete history, current symptoms, diagnoses, medications, physical health, family history, social circumstances, risk factors, treatment history, or other individual circumstances.
You should consult directly with an appropriately licensed mental-health professional regarding your individual mental-health needs.
When appropriate, you should also consult a physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, nurse practitioner, or other appropriately licensed healthcare provider.
Information May Not Be Current or Complete
The Practice endeavors to provide useful and accurate general information. Nevertheless, mental-health research, professional standards, laws, regulations, clinical recommendations, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, Practice policies, provider availability, and other information may change over time.
The Practice does not represent or warrant that all information appearing on this website is complete, accurate, current, applicable to your circumstances, or free from errors or omissions.
Website content may not be updated immediately following a change in law, professional guidance, scientific literature, clinical standards, Practice policies, personnel, availability, or other circumstances.
You should therefore not rely upon website content as your sole source of information regarding treatment or professional mental-health services.
For information concerning your individual circumstances, consult an appropriately licensed professional directly.
Description of Services Does Not Guarantee Appropriateness or Results
Descriptions of counseling approaches, therapeutic modalities, areas of focus, conditions addressed, or services available through the Practice are provided for general informational purposes.
The inclusion of a particular service, condition, treatment approach, therapeutic modality, or area of focus on this website does not mean that such service or treatment will be clinically appropriate for every individual.
Treatment decisions must be made on an individualized basis.
Mental-health treatment outcomes vary substantially among individuals. The Practice makes no representation, warranty, promise, or guarantee concerning any specific result, outcome, improvement, recovery, duration of treatment, or effectiveness of a particular therapeutic approach.
Provider Biographies Credentials and Areas of Practice
Professional biographies, credentials, training, certifications, experience, professional interests, and areas of practice appearing on this website are provided for general informational purposes.
An identified area of interest or experience should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a particular provider will be available, clinically appropriate for a particular patient, or legally authorized to provide services in the jurisdiction where a prospective patient is located.
Current New York professional licensing and registration information may be independently verified through the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions.
Insurance and Payment Information
Any information appearing on this website concerning insurance participation, reimbursement, fees, out-of-network benefits, or payment policies is general information only and may change.
Insurance coverage depends upon the individual's insurance plan, applicable benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, medical-necessity determinations, authorizations, exclusions, and other plan requirements.
The Practice does not guarantee that any service will be covered or reimbursed by an insurance company merely because an insurer or insurance plan is referenced on the website.
Clients remain responsible for understanding their individual insurance benefits and financial obligations, subject to applicable law and the Practice's written financial policies.
Third Party Websites and Resources
This website may contain links to websites, articles, organizations, crisis resources, educational materials, directories, social media platforms, or other resources maintained by third parties.
Such links are provided solely for convenience or general informational purposes.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Practice does not control, operate, endorse, supervise, or assume responsibility for third-party websites, services, content, privacy practices, security practices, accuracy, availability, products, statements, or services.
Accessing a third-party website is at your own discretion and subject to that third party's own terms and privacy practices.
HIPAA and Protected Health Information
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and other federal and state privacy laws may apply to certain information maintained or transmitted by the Practice under circumstances prescribed by law.
The treatment of information received through an inquiry depends on the circumstances and applicable law. The existence of this public website does not itself create a treatment relationship, but this disclaimer does not waive protections that may apply to information the Practice receives.
Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to limit rights that an established patient may have under HIPAA or other applicable federal or New York privacy laws.
Clients should follow the Practice's designated procedures for communicating protected or confidential information.
Minors
This website is intended to provide general information and is not designed to obtain confidential treatment information directly from minors.
A parent, guardian, or other person seeking services for a minor should use the designated administrative inquiry process and avoid transmitting detailed sensitive information about a minor through ordinary email or social media.
The availability, confidentiality, consent, and disclosure rules applicable to treatment of minors may depend upon applicable law and the circumstances of the particular matter.
Website Content Does Not Create Duty to Warn Protect or Intervene
Because merely viewing this website or submitting a general website inquiry does not, without more, create a professional treatment relationship, website use should not be relied upon as a method of notifying the Practice that an individual presents an imminent safety concern or requires intervention.
If you believe someone presents an immediate danger to themselves or others, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource rather than submitting information through this website.
Nothing in this provision is intended to modify any professional or legal obligation that may arise within an established professional relationship.
Limitation Regarding Reliance on Website Information
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Practice disclaims responsibility for decisions made solely in reliance upon general information appearing on this website.
Website users remain responsible for obtaining individualized professional assistance appropriate to their circumstances.
Nothing in this provision is intended to exclude or limit any duty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Changes to This Website and Disclaimer
The Practice may modify, remove, supplement, or update website content or this Website Disclaimer at any time without prior notice.
Continued use of the website following an update constitutes acknowledgment of the then-current version of this Disclaimer.

Section 2: General Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to https://alliancemhc.com and its public pages, content, and links (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Alliance Mental Health Counseling, PLLC (“Alliance,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by law. The Website Disclaimer and Website Privacy Policy are available separately on the Site. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
2. Eligibility and Permitted Use
People of different ages, including parents or guardians seeking care for a teen, may view the Site. A minor’s ability to request or receive services depends on applicable law and the Practice’s intake procedures. Use the Site only for lawful purposes and do not interfere with its operation, security, or other visitors’ access.
3. Informational Use and No Treatment Relationship
Site content is general information, not individualized mental health counseling, medical advice, diagnosis, crisis intervention, or treatment. Viewing the Site or contacting the Practice does not by itself establish a therapist-client relationship. See the Website Disclaimer for details.
4. No Guaranteed Results
Descriptions of services or approaches do not promise a particular clinical outcome or course of treatment. Suitability and treatment decisions are individualized. Nothing in these Terms limits obligations the Practice has to an established client.
5. External Client Portal and Inquiry Links
The Site may link to SimplePractice for inquiries, appointment requests, intake, client portal access, and payment. Those functions operate on a separate platform and may have additional terms and privacy information. The Practice remains responsible for its own legal and professional obligations concerning client information and care. Protect your portal sign-in links and notify the Practice if you suspect unauthorized access.
6. Fees Appointments and Cancellation Policies
Fees, insurance, appointments, cancellations, and payment obligations are governed by the Practice’s current written intake, financial, and consent policies and any applicable law. General website descriptions are not a quote or guarantee of insurance coverage. Please review the policies supplied during intake.
7. Visitor Communications
Please use public contact channels only for administrative inquiries and do not send urgent or detailed clinical information by general email or social media. Information you submit is handled under applicable privacy and professional rules and the relevant Privacy Policy or Notice of Privacy Practices. Sending an inquiry does not grant Alliance a right to use your story or identity in marketing.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, Alliance owns or licenses the text, images, logos, and other material on the Site. You may view and use it for your personal, noncommercial reference. Do not reproduce, distribute, alter, or commercially exploit Site material without permission, except as permitted by law.
9. Prohibited Conduct
Do not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with Site security, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the Site in a way that violates law or another person’s rights. We may restrict access to protect the Site and its visitors, subject to applicable law and without altering our obligations to established clients.
10. Third Party Tools and Links
The Site may link to SimplePractice, crisis resources, maps, or other outside services. Those providers operate their own systems and may have separate terms and privacy practices. Alliance does not control the content or technical availability of outside sites. This does not limit the Practice’s duties concerning the services it provides or the information it maintains.
11. Accessibility
Alliance is working to make the Site more accessible. The separate Accessibility Statement explains how to report a barrier and request help accessing Site information.
12. Site Availability and Content
We work to keep the public Site useful and current, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every page will always be complete and up to date. To the extent permitted by law, the public Site and its general content are provided as available. This provision does not disclaim any legal or professional duty concerning clinical services.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Alliance is not responsible for loss caused solely by reliance on general public Site content or by a technical interruption beyond its reasonable control. This clause does not limit rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited and does not apply to an established client’s treatment rights or the Practice’s professional, privacy, or accessibility obligations.
14. Electronic Communications
General administrative communications may occur electronically. Clinical communications, consent, electronic signatures, and notices relating to treatment are governed by the Practice’s separate intake documents, communication policies, and applicable law. A public Site notice alone is not consent to receive marketing communications.
15. Changes and Enforcement
Alliance may update the public Site and these Terms. A revised version will show a new effective date. We may take reasonable steps to address misuse of the Site, subject to applicable law and existing treatment obligations.
16. Governing Law and Severability
These Site Terms are governed by New York law, subject to any law that cannot be waived. Any Site-related dispute will be addressed in a court with proper jurisdiction and venue. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. Separate signed treatment agreements control clinical services where they differ from these Site Terms.
