Fees & FAQs
Individual therapy fees are $250 for a 45-minute session or $335 for a 60-minute session. I do not accept insurance directly, but I can help you explore any out-of-network benefits and provide documentation you may need to seek reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.

What is "alliance" in Alliance Mental Health Counseling?
The therapeutic alliance is the relationship we build together. The methods we use matter, but trust, honesty, and a shared sense that our work is helping you matter just as much. You should be able to bring your real self into the room, including uncertainty, humor, frustration, and the things that are hard to say.
2
What will our first session be like?
We’ll talk about what brought you in, what life has been like, and what you hope might change. I’ll want to understand you beyond a list of symptoms. You don’t need a polished explanation of yourself, and you don’t have to tell your entire story at once.
3
Is therapy short term or long term?
It can be either. I’ve worked with people for weeks, months, and years. Focused work can be useful, and so can the kind of honest conversation that unfolds over time. Sometimes talking helps us recognize a part of the story we haven’t fully seen yet. Sometimes we understand something clearly but still feel it in our nervous system; that’s when approaches such as EMDR or other body-based work may help. We’ll keep talking about whether the process is benefiting you. I don’t see a fixed finish line that everyone has to reach.

What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a form of therapy that helps people work with distressing memories and the beliefs, emotions, and body responses connected to them. During parts of EMDR, you may focus on a memory while following side-to-side eye movements or another alternating stimulus, such as taps. The goal is for an experience to become less disruptive in the present. EMDR begins with understanding your history and preparing for the work; it isn’t something we have to rush into.

Will I have to talk about trauma before I'm ready?
No. Feeling safe enough to go deeper can take time, especially when painful experiences happened within relationships. We can begin wherever you are, build trust, and decide together what feels useful to explore.

How does HeartMath fit into your approach?
I’m a certified practitioner in The Resilient Heart: Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath. HeartMath offers breathing and awareness practices that can help you notice and influence your stress response. Heart rate variability, or HRV, can also provide feedback about how your body responds to stress and recovery. I may use these tools to support steadiness, overall wellness, trauma recovery, or performance when they fit your goals.
7
Do you use only one type of therapy?
No. My work can draw from EMDR, psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation practices. We’ll choose what is useful for you. A technique should serve the work we’re doing together, rather than make you feel like you have to fit a preset program.
8
Do you only work with men or athletes?
No. Those are areas of particular interest and experience, but I work with all teens and adults facing trauma, anxiety, anger, depression, relationship patterns, and life transitions.
